AD 2009-2010

AD?! Edward! Don’t you mean CE?

NO YOU NANCE!

I MEAN AD!

Not to be confused with “After Death”. It means ANNO DOMINI, which translated means, “Year of our LORD”. I don’t buy into that politically correct crap.

That established… let us move on…

A quick recap:

January

Tried my patience, my acting skills, and tested my will. It also tested my knowledge according to the U.S. Military. January is when I took the ASVAB and scored in the 96th percentile.

February

I gained a year, bringing the total to 23. Freed myself of a horrid engagement which would have truly ruined me had I continued, thank God that quilt was finally finished so I was free to attain my freedom. February (besides making me shiver, with every paper I delivered) is also when the weight loss began.

March-April

Pretty much the same uneventful stuff, except for a couple family birthdays, I worked for the Government, which was fun.

May

Finally received the long awaited (long overdue) AA.

June

First trip to Australia with Andrew

July

Loss of my favorite cousin to a murder, and the first Coup in Honduras since I’ve been alive

August-October

Was filled with saving up for Australia. Got to go visit one of my favorite past Adviser’s in scouting down in San Diego.

November

I was officially on the way to Australia. Packing and transitioning my life, preparing for the new adventure ahead.

December

The past month, well, I think is the one ya’lls know the most about. It’s been fun. It’s been interesting. Definitely something I’ll never forget (until I’m old at least)

AD 2009 ended quite lovely. After a couple weeks of searching, Paul and I were at long last able to find a butcher who recognized the picture of Tri-Tip that I had, who was then able to provide it to us. Somewhat confused as to why we would want that cut… but it worked out. They were smaller than any we would get in Santa Maria, but, they worked. We bought 3, and brought them home. I barbequed them in true Santa Maria Style thereby providing the last meal of AD 2009. Everyone enjoyed their Tri-Tip sandwich and where finally able to see what all the fuss was about. We then had a fairly relaxed evening at home, and ushered in the New Year as a family.

AD 2010 has treated me quite well so far. I kept an eye on all the other celebrations of the world. Watched the ball drop in New York City, live with the sun still outside, which was kinda fun I must say. The only complaint I have of 2010 so far is the number of mosquitoes that have somehow managed to find their way inside and have eaten me alive. I counted 15 bites on just my right forearm. Of course, they are bigger than the ones on the Central Coast. With the great success of the last few night’s meals, I cooked the first dinner of 2010. I made my favorite Italian meal, Pollo Parmigiano e Fettucini Alfredo.

Today was a great way to kick off the New Year;
*My favorite (Italian) meal
*Finally watched “The Hangover” (which I could totally see happening with me and my mates – not exactly, but the jist)
*My mini-coach took my Pepsi cap off for the day because it was technically a holiday and I “earned it”
*and of course, the company of a very beautiful lovely young blonde at dinner tonight. Thanks Allie, always nice having you around, besides obvious reasons, Paul doesn’t pick on me as much when you’re around.

Holy Days now all successfully accomplished… next up… road trip to South Australia, Victoria, and south western New South Wales.

Happy New Year everyone!
