Life on the Streets: Day 3 – Part 3

Ferry crew informs me I’m on a closed dock, apparently they switched ferry docks on me and so sitting at 5 didn’t help me getting to Darling Harbor since that ferry just left from Wharf 4.

Spent almost an hour at the wrong dock. If I wasn’t homeless with better things to do with my time I’d be pissed.

So after being on the wrong dock, I take the wrong ferry. Then I get back to Circular Quay only to find out I’ve already damaged my irreplaceable week pass. Now I always have to have the attendant at every dock and station let me through the gate.

Now I’m here at Darling Harbor and don’t know what to do. I’m sleepy, I know that much… I wonder if I fell asleep in here, what would happen… since I want to be able to come back, I wont… but still… I wonder.

Have decided to try the Opera House or balcony again now that I have a beanie. Also going to check on other Circular Quay homeless if they are there.

Going to try to watch the sunrise at Bondi today then Manly tomorrow. Considering spending night at Watson’s bay, but highly doubt it, that would be way more like tent-less camping.

Score another point public transit. No more trains until morning it seems. I might get to walk Pitt street to the Opera House after all. Except now, with even MORE blocks to go!

When the one guy in the North saw me look at him he started walking and disappeared. This must be where he went. I see the same sign on the opposite side of the road. This is a busy street. Makes sense, tunnel for foot traffic doesn’t look that bad from entrance, well lit, and not long walk… there must be more down there.

Correction on previous analysis.

Though it can be used as a subteranian cross walk, they are actually two separate entrances that meet in the middle to make one entrance to a car park I couldn’t get to because of a gate.

Initial thought:
Warm… VERY warm actually.

As I came into view of who was in the tunnel, I noticed they all kept to one side, very courteous to traffic I thought.

I counted 9 people sleeping down there. Considering maybe getting some rest in park tonight. The homeless don’t seem to bother each other. Then again, who knows. The park is well lit and the street is busy and there are construction workers on the tower side of the park I am going to go North-South like I did West-East and then come back near the fountain which seems to be safest possibility.
